More than one legislator(?) in DC has figured out it's easier to target federal employees (including first responders) than to do the hard work of putting an all around deficit reduction program together. Here are two news articles that outline what may be in store for YOU. The first article addresses proposals to eliminate the FERS retirement system for new employees and workers with five or less years of service. The second article also discusses the elimination of the federal pension system as well as other proposals for wage freezes, increased employee pension contributions etc. Have you become active in the Local F-282 Political Action Committee yet?

Have you become active in the Local F-282 Political Action Committee yet? In a letter to the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction (the "super committee") two legislators outline a series of "sacrifices" they feel federal employees should make. Another article discusses more and different proposals submitted by other legislators.
